You know what this post made me think? That there is no such thing as “other people.” We think of disasters as happening to other people, perhaps mostly to people in third world countries, but not to us. But to those people, we’re the other people. Disasters happen to us, too, like the World Trade Center tragedy, Hurricane Katrina, the horrific flooding right here in my hometown, a mere few miles from my home, that made national news just a few years ago.
There is no such thing as “other people.” Disaster can happen to anyone life happens to.
