Sunday Song: Ygdrassil

This week’s Sunday Song for a new season is from one of my favorite little-known bands, the Dutch duo Ygdrassil. Click on the pic to listen.

They’re a female vocal duo who perform with minimal backing, covering Leonard Cohen, the Velvets and Neil Young as well as writing their own music. If you’re in the mood for romantic, moody, British-flavored folk for realists with no taste for the twee and overblown, enjoy the links below. I’m a fan.

Just turn your speakers on (and up) and listen to music that’s a fine soundtrack to winter’s white skies and bare branches.

Here’s a link to the first single from the new CD, The Garden of Jane Delawney, an old Trees song.
